Join the Adult Acute Mental Health Inpatient Unit at Townsville University Hospital and play an important role in supporting consumers experiencing acute mental health challenges. As part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide occupational therapy assessment, intervention and recovery-focused care within a contemporary inpatient mental health environment.
About the Role
The Adult Acute Mental Health Inpatient Unit is a modern 36-bed facility co-located on the Townsville University Hospital campus. The service provides acute assessment, diagnosis and treatment for people experiencing mental health disorders and includes an eight-bed Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit and a 28-bed Low Dependency Unit.
In this role, you will deliver occupational therapy assessment, treatment and therapeutic interventions to consumers experiencing acute psychiatric mental health symptoms. Working closely with consumers, carers and members of the multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to a therapeutic environment that supports recovery, dignity and wellbeing.
You will provide evidence-based occupational therapy services through individual and group interventions, applying professional standards and contemporary mental health practice to support positive consumer outcomes.
