Description
- Conduct comprehensive individual psychological evaluations, interpret assessment data, and develop meaningful, student-centered recommendations to support academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth.
- Demonstrate knowledge of and readiness to implement Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) frameworks.
- Participate as an active team member in multidisciplinary meetings to support decision-making related to educational goals, special education eligibility, and service provision.
- Provide direct services to students, both individually and in group settings, based on identified needs.
- Support and engage in parent education efforts to enhance family understanding of student needs and interventions.
- Collaborate and consult with teachers and school staff regarding effective strategies for behavior management and academic support.
- Under the supervision of a qualified Internship Supervisor, assist in crisis response services, including behavioral threat assessments and suicide risk assessments.
- Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills across professional settings.
- Collaborate effectively with school personnel as well as community, health, and social service agencies as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Engage in ongoing professional development through training, observation, and study, with particular attention to ethical standards and legal requirements in school psychology.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor and/or Director of Student Support Services.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree or higher in school psychology or educational psychology, including a minimum of 60 semester hours of psychology
- Completion of a nine-month internship in school psychology
- Illinois Professional Educator’s License with School Psychologist endorsement
