Description
The Colville School District is now accepting applications for a School Psychologist. This position is responsible for assisting in student assessment, scientific approached curriculum, and development of Individual Educational Plans (IEP) instructional strategies. Additional responsibilities include program development, teacher consultation, and guidance in areas of child growth and personality development.
The School Psychologist provides direct support to classroom teachers in developing scientifically based approaches that promote positive attitudes and high self-esteem in all students. This role also serves as a team leader for multi-disciplinary teams and participates actively in Professional Learning Community (PLC). The position ensures full implementation of all procedures required to meet compliance standards as outlined in the WAC's.
This is a 1.00 FTE position beginning August 2026. This position follows the school-year calendar (180-days) with an additional 14 days per year.
Essential Duties
- Provide individual and group services and counseling to students and/or parents that emphasize improved educational performance and/or conduct.
- Screen and evaluate referred students by selecting appropriate instruments, administering tests, conducting observations, and writing reports that summarize the evaluation findings and provide educational program recommendations.
- Participate as a team leader to facilitate the multi-disciplinary team and contribute to the Individualized Education Program (IEP) committee through evaluation findings and collaborating on each student's educational plan.
- Provide collaborative consultation, including documentation of results, assistance to basic education staff with RTI implementation and pre-referral intervention strategies, and guidance on recommendations and modifications to support basic education staff in working with special education students in the classroom setting.
- Consult with parents, teachers, and other relevant staff regarding student progress and any adaptations or materials needed to facilitate improved performance in the classroom or at home.
- Provide direct services through a variety of methods (e.g., classroom presentations, co-teaching in general education settings, staff or parent in-service sessions) as needed.
- Maintain appropriate data on students to document current levels of performance and other pertinent information; conduct reevaluations, as appropriate, to determine the extent of progress and effectiveness of therapy.
- Establish and monitor the necessary caseloads, procedures, and resources to manage school psychologist services to students/staff, and work cooperatively to accomplish the goals of the IEP.
- Supervise assigned paraeducators, as appropriate.
- Adhere to the ethical standards and codes of the profession, as well as all established rules, regulations, and laws governing special education programs.
- Participate in activities that promote professional development and use clinical/educational research to enhance therapy services.
- Support and implement District policies, regulations, procedures, and administrative directives; demonstrate loyalty to the District and administrators.
- Support and follow the policies and procedures of the schools served.
- Submit records, reports, and assignments promptly and accurately.
- Approach obstacles and constraints with a positive, solution-oriented mindset.
- Demonstrate flexibility by adjusting to and adopting new approaches in the performance of his/her duties.

Salary & Benefits
This position is part of the Colville Education Association (CEA) Teachers' Bargaining Unit. Salary is in accordance with the 2026-2027 Colville Education Association (CEA) Collective Bargaining Agreement , Appendix G, ranging from $56,482-$105,410, depending on education and years of experience. The position includes a comprehensive benefits package with medical, dental, vision, life/AD&D, and long-term disability, as well as participation in Washington State's school retirement programs. Education, Training and Experience
- Valid and appropriate School Psychologist Educational Staff Associate (ESA) Certificate for the State of Washington.
- Ability to administer and interpret various standardized test materials.
- Computer knowledge and skills preferred.
- Be familiar with a variety of intervention approaches to learning.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing staff development that promotes continuous inquiry and improvement embedded in the daily life of schools.
- Be familiar with multi-tiered systems of support for academic and social emotional learning.
- Experience and /or training with cultural, ethnic, language and hearing diversity is desired.
- Employment is contingent upon clearance by the Washington State Patrol and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
- Three years experience as School Psychologist preferred. Preference may be given to candidates with direct experience in school setting and/or with school aged children.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Working knowledge of the principals, practices and ethical standards of School Psychology; relevant state and federal laws, rules and regulations; and applicable district policies and procedures.
- Must have knowledge and experience using technology in the delivery of curriculum and instruction.
- Ability to deal effectively and appropriately with students, parents and other educational professionals regarding student concerns and problems.
- Ability to consult with school personnel in developing and implementing effective interventions for students.
- Demonstrates ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both written and oral form.
- Ability to transport self between and among school sites throughout the District, and to students’ homes, as necessary.
- Ability to communicate effectively, clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
- Knowledge and assurance of confidentiality standards.
- Basic computer literacy - word processing, data entry.
