Location: Harrison, New York
Pay Rate: $25.00 – $31.00 per hour
Job Type: Full-time or Part-time
Work Setting: In-person, private home
Shifts needed:
Weekdays (Mon–Fri)
Morning: 7:30 AM – 1:30 PM (6 hrs)
Afternoon: 1:30 PM – 7:30 PM (6 hrs)
Evening: 7:30 PM – 10:30 PM (3 hrs)
Overnight: 10:30 PM – 7:30 AM (9 hrs)
Weekends (Sat–Sun)
Morning: 7:30 AM – 2:30 PM (7 hrs)
Afternoon: 2:30 PM – 5:30 PM (3 hrs)
Evening: 5:30 PM – 10:30 PM (5 hrs)
Overnight: 10:30 PM – 7:30 AM (9 hrs)
Position Overview
We are a private family located in Harrison, New York seeking a compassionate, experienced Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or ABA-trained professional to provide individualized support for an adult male with autism.
The RBT will be responsible for implementing structured behavioral and educational programs designed to improve independence, daily living skills, communication, and social functioning. The ideal candidate is patient, reliable, and comfortable working collaboratively with family members and other professionals involved in the individual’s care.

Key Responsibilities
Behavioral and Skill Development
- Implement Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) programs developed by supervising professionals.
- Teach and reinforce functional life skills, including:
o Personal hygiene and grooming
o Meal preparation and kitchen safety
o Household tasks and organization
o Time management and routines
- Support the development of academic and cognitive skills, depending on the individual's goals.
- Promote independent decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Behavior Support
- Follow Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) to manage challenging behaviors.
- Use evidence-based ABA techniques such as:
o Positive reinforcement
o Prompting and fading
o Task analysis
o Data-driven instruction
- Maintain a calm, supportive environment during behavioral challenges.
Data Collection and Documentation
- Collect and record accurate behavioral and skill acquisition data during sessions.
- Monitor progress toward established goals.
- Communicate updates and observations to family members and supervising professionals.
Collaboration
- Work closely with family members and other team members to ensure consistent program implementation.
- Provide feedback and suggestions to improve daily routines and skill-building opportunities.
- Participate in training sessions or team meetings when required.
Community and Social Support
- Assist the client with transportation to appointments, activities, or social events.
- Encourage participation in community-based learning and social interactions.
- Support the development of social and communication skills in real-world settings.
Qualifications
Preferred candidates will have:
- Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification or equivalent ABA training
- At least 2 years of experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities
- Knowledge of ABA principles and behavior intervention strategies
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently in a home-based environment
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (preferred)
Additional Requirements
- Ability to commute to Harrison, New York
- Willingness to travel locally for appointments or activities (approximately 25% of the time)
- Comfortable working in a home-based setting
