Description
Camp Chateaugay is seeking a Mental Health Professional to join our summer team and provide consultation and social-emotional support to campers and staff. This is not a therapeutic role, but rather a supportive presence to help our camp community navigate the typical social-emotional challenges that arise during the summer. This is a seasonal position ideal for school mental health professionals with children that want to spend the summer outdoors at summer camp. Ideal candidates can be school psychologists, social workers or behavioral specialists.
Key Responsibilities
- Consult with camp management to assess when situations require professional mental health support
- Provide guidance to counselors and staff on supporting campers experiencing homesickness, friendship difficulties, adjustment challenges, and other common camp concerns
- Offer brief check-ins and supportive conversations with campers as needed
- Help identify when issues extend beyond typical camp adjustment and require additional resources
- Collaborate with camp directors to create a mentally healthy camp environment
- Support staff wellness and team dynamics
Salary plus private accommodations and all meals provided. Round-trip travel expenses covered.

Salary: $4000 - $6500 for the season, based on experience and qualifications.

Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related field
- Experience working with children and adolescents
- Strong consultation and assessment skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, residential camp setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
