Description
An Integrated Behavioral Health Therapist provides mental health assessment, brief intervention, and ongoing support within a primary care or medical setting. They work as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team to address the behavioral, emotional, and psychosocial factors that impact a patient’s overall health. Responsibilities typically include conducting screenings and assessments, providing short-term evidence-based therapy, consulting with medical providers, and coordinating care. The role focuses on improving whole-person care, increasing access to mental health services, and supporting patients in managing both behavioral health and medical conditions.
Requirements
Educational degree: must be pursuing a master’s degree in psychology, counseling or a related field, seeking eventual licensure of LPCC
Must be able to maintain client confidentiality in accordance with state and federal guidelines and HIPAA requirements.
Possess a strong community health/public health orientation.
Provide culturally sensitive and relevant services to diverse clients and their families.
Experience in community clinics preferred.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
